On 15 November, Mrs Tino and seven Sixth Form Italian students travelled to Rome for an intensive five day study visit. The students were hosted by local families which ensured a complete immersion in the Italian language and culture. Seb Campisi certainly found the visit beneficial:
“Our visit to Rome was an enjoyable experience. Staying with an Italian family helped to progress my understanding of the language, and also of the Italian way of living. Rome is a great place not only for sights and monuments but also for going out and generally having a brilliant time!”
Maria Amormino also enjoyed the welcoming hospitality of the host families and described the experience as:
“The best trip I’ve ever been on...it’s a shame we didn’t stay longer!” The students enjoyed visiting the famous sights in Rome including The Colosseo and The Vatican including the stunning St Peter’s Basilica, and even managed to visit the beautiful seaside town of Ostia. Stephanie Colairo summed up the views of all the students who took part in the visit:
“Our trip to Rome was fantastic!”
