Welcome to the PTA

The PTA meets each term to determine how best to allocate funds which are generated through the SJB Club - your club that provides those extras which improve facilities for all at SJB.

The success of the SJB Club is because of the support of parents and with currently around 650 members their subscriptions raise over £60,000 a year. Joining the SJB Club also entitles each member to a chance of winning a prize (£250, £100, £75, £50 or £25) from a monthly draw…you never know “it could be you”.

At SJB this form of fund raising is really working - lots of money is raised and you never have to buy a raffle ticket or attend a jumble sale! Remember, it’s never too late to join this inclusive club. For an application form to join the SJB Club, please contact us

Currently there are around 15 parents on the PTA Committee who, with Miss Magill, agree where money should best be spent. In recent times the SJB Club has provided the school with laptops, interactive whiteboards, an outdoor covered recreation area and a multi-gym. The PTA is also committed to funding the maintenance of a school mini-bus.

The PTA also assists at many of the school’s events and you will often see committee members serving refreshments - Pimms at the Awards Evening in summer, mulled wine at the Christmas Carol Service and soft drinks at Sports Day. The PTA also hosts the Year 7 Cheese and Wine Evening, which is a very enjoyable evening when new parents can meet one another and staff. We also facilitate other events on request.

This year the PTA has organised a Spring Ball for parents, staff and friends of SJB. This posh event was held on 6th May at the Hilton Hotel, Cobham and was a great night out. Additionally, £4,500 was raised for the NSPCC during the evening.

The excellent partnership between parents and school adds to the success of SJB and creates a sense of community throughout. The strength of the PTA, plus the success of SJB Club, is as a result of your support. Thank You.

The SJB PTA changes with the times and new members with new ideas are refreshing and very welcome. Your contribution will make a difference and it will be appreciated. If you would like to join the PTA Committee and play a part, please contact us
