Examination Results - 2008

At GCSE the percentage of students achieving five or more A*- C grades at GCSE was 95.2% (87.7% including English and Maths). This is the 7th successive year that well over 80% of our students have achieved five or more A* - C grades. The percentage of students gaining five or more A*- D was over 97%. The core subjects of RE, Maths, English and Science where all our students sit exams all achieved over 95% A*- C grades and over 50% of all grades were A/A*. These results placed us 23rd nationally in the league tables for comprehensive schools (as published in The Daily Telegraph, 22 August 2008).

At A Level our pass rate was 99.6% with 71% of every exam result at either A or B grade (91.5% A - C). Our average points score per student was 366 UCAS points (an equivalent to 3 A grades).  These results placed us 10th nationally in the league table for comprehensive schools (as published in The Daily Telegraph,15 August 2008).

Such achievement is a result of outstanding teaching, commitment from both staff and students and the support of parents.
